Courtyard House

On the land adjoining a pair of 1920’s semi’s the brief was to create a three bed family home. The house was to occupy the majority of the long, narrow site while a double garage situated at the far end of the lane. The plan creates two distinct outdoor spaces, an entry courtyard located between the two new structures and an intimate, west facing garden. The barn like aesthetic and the choice of black timber referenced the local agricultural of the area.
